With the All Blacks now back in Super 14, now is the time for them to make their mark. Last weekend some of the results mean there are several teams who are now facing uphill battles to make the semi finals.

The Super Eights started today with the hosts the West Indies playing Australia. But just as the West Indies were about to start their run chase, the rain came forcing the game to be concluded tomorrow.

What a week is was with many top name All Blacks returning, some teams getting their seasons back on track, while others had their semi finals chances all but snuffed out.

The six returning All Blacks played well at times for the Crusaders, but looked rusty in a scrappy 36-11 win over the Stomers in Christchurch.

New Zealand have beaten Canada by 114 runs in their final Group C match at the ICC Cricket World Cup to advance to the Super Eights stage as top of their group. Despite an excellent Canadian innings, their highest score of the World Cup, New Zealand’s total of 363/5 was an impossible task.

After spending the first 7 rounds of Super 14 on the side line, most of the 22 man reconditioning squad have been named to play for their Super 14 franchises this weekend.

The Sydney Morning Herald is reporting that another Parramatta Eels’ player, the time Eric Grothe, is considering a switch to rugby union. Is the ARU talent development system that bad?
