Yet another rugby player in trouble with the law
ByThe NZ Herald is carrying a story about yet another Super 14 player getting into trouble. This time it’s Rene Ranger from the Blues.
Blues rookie Rene Ranger has been stood down for this weekend’s Super 14 match against the Reds as part of a misconduct investigation into a late-night incident.
The 22-year-old was allegedly involved in a street fight in Matakana, north of Auckland, on Saturday.
It’s hard not to just roll your eyes and say, “Not again!”
NZRU general manager professional rugby NeilĀ Sorensen said the NZRU was “incredibly frustrated and extremely disappointed” at ongoing incidents of misconduct involving its professional players.
“We have had far too many incidents recently and, frankly, enough is enough.”
Off the top of my head so far this year we’ve had Dane Coles, Taniela Moa and now Ranger. I think enough was enough a long time ago.
And when was the last time we heard about a Crusader getting into trouble?
